It's a cold day here in miserable Philadelphia. A city that lives for its pro sports, and all of them are very depressing. The Eagles choked to let the Cowgirls win the division, the Sixers are in tank season number 2, and the Flyers are the biggest cock tease in the NHL. I left out the fourth team in the city and that is the Phillies. They are gonna putt their fans in a special hell this summer (The hell reserved for child molesters and people who talk at the movie theaters) and everybody here is blaming the GM. Is it his fault? Yes, it is but not because why everybody says. In Philly that talk about his MLB moves but what is his real downfall was how evaluated minor league talent.
When we talk about the Cardinals and the Giants (Who are the class of the NL) we talk about all the talent they have in their farm system. Their teams are mostly made up of their guys not a bunch of free agents high price. When the Phillies won in 08 it was one of the greatest moments I've witness and they were made up of our guys. By the end of the run they weren't our guys anymore they were bought and The Phils run came to a crashing halt. Now we have to rebuild and I do not think Ruben Amaro knows how to evaluate minor league talent. The best player called up from the Ruben era is...Dom Brown (Need a gun after reading that last sentence).
