Today was a weird day for Yankee fans, the Yankees were out bid by the RED SOX. The young Cuban decided the Red Sox over 9 other teams, and the Red Sox yes the Red Sox not the Yankees were the highest bidders. As a Yankee fan it is a weird feeling getting outbid. As a Millennium I grew up with the Yankees winning and spending, but now it feels like the Yankees are about losing and saving money. Now I am not the guy advocating spend, spend, and spend, far from it. I just want to feel that the Yankee owner's care about winning. Over the last few years I just don't have the feeling that the Yankee ownership cares about winning. What Hal cares about is spread sheets and turning a profit.
In a perfect world Mark Cuban and Derek Jeter buys the Yankees, and then they hire me to be the manager, and then we win the World Series and then we go and party and Derek Jeter takes me to that secret club where models hangs out and then I marry one of those models. That is in a perfect world, but I have a strange feeling that this will not happen.
As a Yankee fan we now have to deal with this new regime, and have to accept we will not outbid teams all the time. I write this blog as the headline on ESPN is A-Rod at arriving at camp...just a weird day to be a Yankee Fan
